Volunteer Opportunities

COMMUNITY SUPPORT
Inland Valley Hope Partners depends on community volunteers of all ages caring for people living in poverty to provide its programs. Each year some 150+ volunteers donate over 20,000 hours at Hope Partners to help support the many programs that help transform lives in our community.

FOOD SECURITY PROGRAM
Ontario (Sova) & Pomona (Beta): Mo-Thu, 9:00am-3:00 pm
San Dimas: Mo,Wed,Fri, 2:00-4:00 pm
Claremont: Tues/Thu, 2:00-5:00pm; Sat, 9:00-11:00 am

• Client intake
• Pantry workers (stocking shelves, bagging food)

GROUP VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:
(Great for Youth Groups, Women’s/ Men’s Groups, etc.):

• Adopt-A-Family
• Food Drives
• Book Drives
• School Supplies
• Alternative Christmas
• Alternative Gifts

• Assist with outreach activities at the market (helping with educational and outreach activities, etc)
• Assisting with set up and tear down of the market (includes lifting)

OUR HOUSE EMERGENCY SHELTER (Pomona):
Daily:

• Intake screening

• Collecting/ bagging linens
• Straightening linen closet/ supplying clean linens to residents

• Shopping for food and supplies and transporting them
• Labeling frozen foods with dates, stocking shelves/ freezers

• Filling supply orders for shelter residents
• Stocking facilities room and other misc. duties

• Week before Thanksgiving & week before Christmas
• When supplies arrive from Shelter Partnership (quarterly)
• Help administrate the adopt-a-family program

ADMINISTRATION & FINANCE (Pomona):

• Assist with filing
• Office help: typing, filing, and answering phones.
• Newsletter mailing: typically 2nd Tuesday of the month: folding, labeling (call 909-622-3806, x222 for exact day and time)

DEVELOPMENT Department:

• Assist with phone calls, filing, and mailings
• Seasonal data entry
• Assist with special events (committee work and hands-on)
